Safeguarding, Protection and Wellbeing Policy

These policies outlines CMC-Nepal’s commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all children & adolescents, adults at risk, staff members, volunteers, consultants, partners, and community members. It establishes standards of conduct and procedures to prevent, identify, report, and respond to abuse, exploitation, harassment, neglect, and other forms of harm, while promoting accountability, dignity, and a culture of safeguarding across all organizational activities.

Whistleblowing and Reporting Concerns

CMC-Nepal is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct. Anyone, including staff, partners, and community members, can safely and confidentially report concerns about misconduct, abuse, harm, or unethical behavior.

Reportable concerns include:

  • Violations of CMC-Nepal policies or Code of Conduct
  • Exploitation, abuse, harassment, or discrimination
  • Fraud, corruption, bribery, or misuse of resources
  • Data security breaches
  • Safeguarding and child protection concerns
  • Conflicts of interest

Not for reporting:
Routine HR matters, workplace grievances, performance issues, or interpersonal conflicts should be addressed through regular management and HR channels unless they involve serious misconduct.

Confidentiality and Protection
All reports are treated confidentially, and retaliation against whistleblowers is strictly prohibited. Reports may also be submitted anonymously.

What happens next?

  1. Receipt of the report will be acknowledged where possible.
  2. The report will be reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken.
  3. Additional information may be requested if needed.

Knowingly submitting false or malicious reports may result in disciplinary action.
